Arm Lift
Despite performing physical exercises to tone the arm muscles, the loss of skin firmness in the arms frequently occurs after the age of 40, often perceived as an unpleasant sagging appearance.
It can also happen after massive weight loss, either following a diet or bariatric surgery (gastric sleeve).
The arm lift, or brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure that removes excess skin and fat from this area. The goal of the surgery is to create more toned arms with a natural shape and a harmonious aesthetic appearance.
Procedure Details
The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, with an average duration of 2 hours, requiring one night of hospitalization.
The incision starts from the armpit down to the elbow, its length depending on the severity of the excess. The excess skin and fat are removed, and the area is then sutured. The incisions are sealed with special dressings so you can shower without worry. Then, a bandage and special elastic sleeves are applied to provide moderate compression to secure the surgery and prevent complications – such as hematomas or suture opening – and also to reduce the swelling that normally occurs after surgery.
The aesthetic result is remarkable, and the presence of scars fully compensates for the beautiful outcome: firm arms without excess skin.
