Doctor of Medical Sciences and Chief Physician in Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Microsurgery
Dr. Ina Petrescu is a Doctor of Medical Sciences and Chief Physician in Plastic, Aesthetic, and Reconstructive Microsurgery with 20 years of experience in plastic surgery and 17 years in aesthetic surgery, holding a vast portfolio of procedures: from reconstructive surgery of the hand and face, oncologic surgery of skin and soft tissue tumors, breast reconstruction after breast cancer, to aesthetic breast surgery and body contouring after massive weight loss following bariatric procedures.

She completed her specialization in plastic surgery and reconstructive microsurgery at the Emergency University Hospital Bucharest, becoming a specialist in 2006 and a chief physician in 2011.
Dr. Ina Petrescu is an international member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons – ASPS and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery – ISAPS, as well as a member of the Romanian Society of Plastic Surgeons and the Bucharest College of Physicians.
Between 2008-2012, she was the principal investigator in international multicenter clinical studies on scientific research in plastic surgery, studying the therapeutic efficacy of a new-generation antibiotic in treating extensive infections, organized by MedCo and Covance, USA.
Between 2008-2011, she was involved in two national scientific research projects: “Microfluidic Biochip for the Rheological Characterization of Non-Newtonian Fluids with Applications in Diagnosis and Medical Treatment” (MELANOCHIP) and “Micro-Electro-Mechanical System with Applications in Peripheral Nerve Microsurgical Reconstruction” (RECONECT).
In 2011, she earned her PhD in Medical Sciences at UMF “Carol Davila” with the dissertation titled “Genetic and Microtechnological Study of Skin Tumors,” in which she developed an innovative therapeutic method for treating cutaneous melanoma in laboratory animals using nanotechnology.
Since 2014, she holds the scientific patent “Procedure for Investigating Tumor Tissue Architecture Based on Surface Plasmon Resonance Using Gold Nanoparticles” together with the research team at IMT Bucharest, led by Dr. Ing Marioara Avram, an invention awarded the Gold Medal at the International Invention Salon, Geneva 2014, and the Gold Medal at INVENTIKA, Salon of Inventions and Innovations, 2014, Bucharest.
She has been a visiting surgeon, completing numerous international training stages: in 2012, aesthetic surgery at Prof. Dr. Giovanni Botti Clinic, Villa Bella, Salo, Italy; in 2013, breast reconstruction after cancer specialization at St. Andrew’s Center, Broomfield Hospital, UK; in 2016, body reconstruction after massive weight loss at Hospital Federal Do Andarai, Rio de Janeiro; and in 2019, non-surgical thread lifting specialization with APTOS, Tbilisi, Georgia.
Dr. Ina Petrescu is a speaker and trainer for non-surgical APTOS thread lifting, as well as injectable treatments with Regenyal hyaluronic acid.
Her excellence in breast reconstruction is reflected in over 300 surgical procedures tailored to each case: reconstruction with latissimus dorsi flap and silicone implant, TRAM flap, reconstruction with breast implant or expander plus implant, either simultaneously with mastectomy or secondary after completing oncologic treatment. Additionally, performing symmetry on the healthy breast during reconstruction has raised the standard in breast reconstruction, benefiting patients by reducing the number of surgeries and recovery times.
In 2018, she coordinated the National Breast Reconstruction Program at the Emergency University Hospital Bucharest, achieving the highest number of such surgeries in Romania. Within the hospital, she performed numerous reconstructive surgeries as part of a mixed team with oncology surgeons, being a member of the multidisciplinary breast cancer team.
She conducts her private practice at Zetta Clinic, performing aesthetic surgeries, body contouring after bariatric surgery, as well as breast reconstruction procedures. Excellence in post-bariatric surgery is demonstrated by completing full body lifts in record time of 5 hours alongside an enthusiastic team of specialists and residents.
Since 2019, she has also created a special space dedicated to minimally invasive beauty treatments: botulinum toxin, hyaluronic acid, non-surgical thread lifting, and mesotherapy – Dr. Ina Petrescu Clinic.
